Basically i bought this book because it was up on sale. I thought it will be a light and relaxable read where i didn’t have to apply my deep thoughts.

But i was wrong.

This was much more than a book it was basically my whole life. It was so relatable that i felt all the emotions which were being portrayed in this book. I think this book should be read by every teenager who is facing a difficult time in their life. The book is the best portrayal of anxiety and bullying i have ever read. It seemed like i was living with Elise from the first page of this book because it was so visual. The writing style was perfect and descriptive but also gave space to the readers to think and imagine every situation.

Also, this book portrays the perfect side effects of depression and mood swings one goes while having ay kind of mental illness.

Sometimes people think they know you. They know a few facts about you, and they piece you together in a way that makes sense to them. And if you don’t know yourself very well, you might even believe that they are right. But the truth is, that isn’t you. That isn’t you at all.”

One of the important aspect of the book was bullying. Elise had to go through bullying in school along with cyber bullying. The trauma one can have while being bullied is clearly shown.

People are who they are and, try as you might, you cannot make them be what you want them to be.”

“Throughout it all, you are still, always, you: beautiful and bruised, known and unknowable
